Sept-2017 In this challenge we will use Python Turtle to draw regular polygons including: An equilateral triangle. I will have snapping engaged in an edit session and try to use it with the measure or create feature tool, but snapping won't engage. Python draw polygon I am new to streamlit. If snapping is OFF all the time when loading the layer and entering the edit mode: everything works. Cursor is jumpy in an AutoCAD drawing and skips over object snap points when zoomed in. When I move the mouse to try to engage it, it switches to the hourglass for a moment before continuing not to snap. Zooming out helps, but the cursor may still be jumpy. Actual Object Snaps (OSnaps) may be highlighted but ignored. It may look like the cursor is snapping to an invisible grid. The aperture size for Object Snap is too small for the cursor to get close enough to snap. I've tried modifying the snapping tolerance and the snapping types (edge, vertex, etc.) to no avail. If I toggle snapping between loading the layer and entering the edit mode: If snapping is ON all the time when loading the layer and entering the edit mode: the bug occurs. Snapping is OFF during layer loading and then switched ON before entering the edit mode - the bug occurs. Snapping is ON during layer loading and then switched OFF before entering the edit mode - the results are mixed (random or rather dependant on something else).Īll the four cases above refer to the first edit session after the layer is loaded. Then, if you rollback the edit mode and enter it again with snapping ON or OFF, the results seem to be persistent (I mean the same as in the first edit session) until the layer is removed from the project. Usually the edge/ vertices I try to snap to will turn blue while the cursor is on it, but my model isn't at all effected. I could not locate any snapping settings at the layer level. I ensured that snapping is enabled in the Settings>Options>Digitizing tab, and increased the snapping distance. I tried snapping 2 polygons from the same layer and also 2 polygons from different layers. My multi-cut tool stopped cutting correctly just recently, whenever I try to start cutting from an edge or vertices, it's like it won't recognize there's any topology under it. Im unable to snap 2 polygons in QGIS 3.0. If you remove the layer and load it again, all symptoms seem to be reset, so you can start another test without any need of using multiple layers nor restarting QGIS in order to get replicable results. Multi-Cut tool won't snap to edges or vertices.

The crunch of the well-seasoned batter yields to perfectly molten banana, the richness of the caramel is cut through by the sandy warmth of the cinnamon. Here they arrive like yogurtlu adana in their ovular tray, logs of carefully battered banana, not a trace of grease in sight, cheap whipped cream as yoghurt, cinnamon standing in for chilli flakes and a drizzling of caramel. Oddly, the banana fritters impress the most. Despite being voted #1 on Tripadvisor in the days when this meant slightly more than nothing, the fish and chips themselves are great, if sometimes needing more heavy handed seasoning. The reasons for this are unclear, although it doesn’t take a detective to work out that a group of people, who could batter seafood before they could speak, came over to the UK and quickly saw an easy way to assimilate into the culture The Golden Chippy massively breaks this strong tradition: it is. It’s a small quirk of London that nearly every major chippy - Toff’s, Fish Central, Golden Hind, Brockley’s Rock - is run by Greek-Cypriots. While the fish is merely decorative, the chicken is unexpectedly great - an unholy matrimony of beef and chicken fat, all puffed and crisped up like a confit. It’s possible to get the works for about £7-8 sitting down, less if foregoing mushy peas, which would be a mistake: the mushy peas are an essential reminder that all brief joy can only be put into context next to the unremitting blandless of existence. Even the tallow is questionable: is that a particularly beefy tang or just old oil? The experience is what it’s all about here: the formica, the black and white tiles, the cod in bowler hat mascot, the fact that The Fryer’s Delight is not a chippy, but a caff that happens to serve fish and chips. The batter on the fish always looks slightly like a fossilised rock, and if the chips weren’t fried in beef dripping they would be middling. To nip this in the bud: the fish and chips are alright. Like most of London’s pie and mash shops, The Fryer’s Delight is one of those places that should be treasured for its cultural importance, against the secret wish that it were better than it actually is. It may be childhood nostalgia, it may be the cholesterol, but this is one of the few meals left that still feels like a treat every time. So pile on all the condiments, chuck in some mushy peas, some pickled wallys, bread and butter, a battered saveloy. No more having to eyeball the rack and work out if that haddock really did come out of the fryer two minutes ago. No more waiting on the counter going stale. The pandemic has another unintended, wholly-positive side-effect: the lack of demand for fish and chips means that every single fillet of fish, every single golden chip, is being fried fresh to order. For this, it is imperative that the chippy be within 5-10 minutes of home, within the radius of the one government-mandated walk per day. The existence of great local fish and chips shops acknowledges a truth: The best way to consume fish and chips is ideally lounging horizontally, watching something bad on TV. Whole areas of London - Muswell Hill, Brockwell, Bromley - dine out on one good fish and chip shop that locals can proudly claim as their own. Fish and chips is home food it’s food that feeds a community. But the scarcity of great fish and chip shops in the centre is also proof that no Londoner has ever found themselves there, thinking: “I’d love some fish and chips right now”. That London’s fish and chip scene can’t compete with those in the north of England, Scotland, or the coastal towns where salty chips and saline air provide an experience tethered to geography is obvious. It’s time to have an honest conversation about the London chippy. While installing MySQL 5.5.18 I discovered that the service menu is no longer installed in the Preferences, and you must start it manually. This is the last screen, you should click the Start MySQL Server button to start MySQL. Otherwise, there’s a lot of cleanup to be able to return to this point and start or stop the server as required. Don’t click in the automatic start button unless you’re sure. After the step-by-step installation instructions, you’ll find the configuration steps to enable you to access the MySQL Monitor from a terminal session. That’s required because the database is installed with an unsecured anonymous and root account. There were a couple shell syntax tricks beyond the instructions and then you need to configure database. I downloaded the Mac OS X, Version 10.6 (x86, 64-bit) version for this installation. You can refer to this XCode installation and configuration post for those steps. Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.*) need to install XCode and Command Line Tools before installing MySQL. When distributing a plugin, it's important to understand the installation locations for different plugin wrappers out there. Installing a plugin is nothing more than a simple copy step of the plugin into the right folder location on the user's machine. Note To get the most out of this tutorial please have your built plugins and binaries ready for packaging. In this tutorial we will first look at installation locations for plugins, then jump into creating installers for Mac and Windows and finally end with marketplace submission best practices. Marketplaces have become increasingly strict on their review process and the slight oversight can cause a resubmission of your binaries. Then this tutorial is made for you! Preparing your application for distribution can be quite daunting when it comes to installations on your users' systems across a multitude of platforms. So you just finished implementing the perfect plugin, bug-free on all wrappers with the best optimisation possible but don't know where to start when it comes to distributing your masterpiece? In the file above, the folder contains the tools wget.exe, unzip.exe, and updatejre.bat, which I will be using in Approach 2. PrerequisitesĪpproach 1 Step 1: Modify your NetBeans platform project.properties FileĪt end of the file, add the line: jdkhome="jre" I used Inno Setup installer for Windows to create my native installer. I will be demonstrating both methods below. Use a native installer to bundle only the application files and download and copy the JRE files from a web server during the course of the installation. Use a native installer to bundle the JRE files along with the application files. I figured out two one-step approaches that allow applications to run on client machines and where no pre-installed Java is required. I will also provide scripts that you can modify and use to automatically generate the native installer in your NetBeans project dist folder. In the following paragraphs, I will show you how to package your application using the Inno Setup native installer for Windows. For example, if your application is built on top of NetBeans 8, then the client machine requires Java 7 preinstalled on it.įortunately, NetBeans allows you to extend the build process to suit your requirements. This forces you to follow a two-step approach, wherein before, proceeding for application installation, one has to first install a version of JRE that is capable of launching the installer. The built-in installer, however, is Java-based and requires a certain version of Java pre-installed on client computers. NetBeans IDE provides an easy way to create an installer for your NetBeans Platform projects. In a typical manufacturing industry scenario where control rooms are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facility to operate a plant, it may come as a surprise to you that there is hardly any computer that has Java installed on it! On the other hand, there is limited information available in publications that talk about applications of Java in the manufacturing Industries. The Internet is filled with blogs, tutorial, and manuals that indicate the popularity of Java for developing modern applications. The ubiquity of Java makes it a platform of choice for building applications that can perform reliably under Big Data, mobile, and IoT environments. And employees will continue to have different levels of risk tolerance for instance, a healthy, single person may be more willing to go back to the office than an immunocompromised worker, or one with children too young to be vaccinated. Uncertainty around health remains rampant we don’t know when the pandemic will end, whether Covid will become endemic or if another variant will emerge – let alone rough dates for when these might occur. “We’ve all harnessed more innovative, efficient ways of doing our jobs.” “Habits are hard to break,” says Almuth McDowall, professor of organisational psychology at London’s Birkbeck University. Flexibility and remote work have become so deeply rooted that reimposing pre-pandemic working models appears a nigh-on impossible task. It seems increasingly improbable to expect a universal return. Now, in the third year of Covid-19, the return-to-office date remains a constantly moving target. And even when employers did fully expect to bring workers back at a defined moment regardless, the unpredictable nature of the pandemic meant return-to-office dates were increasingly kicked down the road. “Early in the crisis CEOs would pronounce return-to-office plans only for them to get wiped out by each new wave and variant,” explains Bloom. This was in part due to ongoing health concerns in many countries, but also because workers had become comfortable – and remained productive – in their remote set-ups, and some even pushed back against these dates. However, as the pandemic dragged on, companies pushed plans back. In turn, the expectation was that many prior characteristics of work, such as the fixed nine-to-five schedule, would be restored.īusinesses of all kinds, across multiple sectors, set return-to-office dates throughout 2020. When the pandemic first hit, and its scale was still to be mapped, a widespread return to the workplace seemed likely in 2020.Įmployers and employees alike anticipated a hard date to come back: some kind of reversion to a pre-pandemic normal – the majority of workforces together in offices, at least a few days a week. “Endless waves of Covid have led most CEOs to give up, and instead set up contingent policies: if, when and how to return to the office.”īut if we finally abandon the idea that there will ever be a day when we’re all permanently back at our office desks, what should we expect instead? “The return-to-office date has died,” says Nicholas Bloom, professor of economics at Stanford University, US. And, while others may be holding out for staff to come back to their desks, each delay further entrenches flexible working patterns – rendering a full-staff return less likely. Some companies have already switched permanently to remote work or hybrid models. Today, the idea that we’ll all return to the office together again seems highly unrealistic. Two years on, employees around the world continue to face ongoing uncertainty as to when – and if – they’ll be expected back at the workplace in person. The emergence of different Covid-19 variants has exacerbated matters Omicron has triggered record cases globally, forcing employees who were slowly adapting to a partial, hybrid return to the office to reverse course and work remotely again. Yet that’s not how things have turned out. Our expectation, back in early 2020, was that once the pandemic had ended, we’d all collectively resume our pre-Covid patterns of office-based working. Workers were meant to have returned to the office by now. Not only does it suspend immersion, it removes what would be another skill angle for people to play towards. However, a bullet fired by an enemy gun will kill another enemy. A bomb dropped from an enemy onto your aircraft will kill you, a similar bomb dropped on an enemy aircraft is harmless. Inconsistency in level design manifests in ballistics and deadly traps that are harmless to allies of your enemies. (As confirmed by 3rd party keystroke reporting software.) (So far only attempted on keyboard, not the recommended XBox controller.) Whichever keyboard control scheme I choose to use, I frequently find that my second jump is "used up" by what was input as a single jump. The jump mechanic is inconsistent and irritating. I'm not offended by swearing (and if you are, definitely walk away from this title,) but this game offends me not by the words used, but the use of the words. The single player mode is creative, but the "humor" is both run into the ground and really not funny to begin with. NOTICE: THE REVIEW FROM THIS POINT IS FOR ONLY THE SINGLE PLAYER MODE OF THE FULL GAME. I find it interesting that the load screen always stops on the "Bull Shit" game splash screen during multiplayer - except when it is going to be that minigame. I've had hours of fun with friends playing through the myriad of minigames, and my friends that don't even like playing video games still enjoy this game. Multiplayer (especially Fiesta Mode for irresponsible adults) is fantastic. It's even better to know that the dev team is still working on new mini-games to come so this game will only get better. Some may miss the board game component (I do enjoy Mario Party) but nobody felt it was needed here. This is frantic and hilarious action, feeling a little like Drinking Game meets Mario Party, but without the board game component to slow down quick transitions between the many mini-games. This game usually sticks around for more of the night as it comes with in-game drinking rules that really add to the enjoyment (and drunken buffoonery). Several friends and I recently played using a combo of PS4 and wired XBOX controllers connected to my steam link and everyone had a great time.Īlong with "Mount Your Friends" and "Frog Climbers" this game has become a permanent addition to every gaming event I host, with everyone requesting at least a couple rounds of each game. All of these titles are expected to arrive over the next few months.8Bit Fiesta is an excellent party game, a ton of fun with a group of friends (even those who don't usually play games). The game is part of Nintendo's push for new independent games that will be released for the 3DS and Wii U, including such games as Wooden Sen'Sey, Siesta Fiesta, and a pair of games from Renegade Kid, Moon Chronicles and Treasurenauts. The trailer below shows just what's been improved for the better in this version. Retro City Rampage DX also has a number of refinements, including improvements to the game's controls (you can now shoot while in mid-air), as well as additional checkpoints, missions and challenges. Retro City Rampage features a number of cultural references, ranging from the DeLorean in Back To the Future to the bank robbery in The Dark Knight-and that's just the first stage. The game is a wild mixture of Grand Theft Auto-style violence and 8-bit presentation, where you guide a leading character through a number of violent situations. The special Retro City Rampage DX version will arrive tomorrow morning as part of this week's 3DS update. After making a violent splash on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita over a year ago, Retro City Rampage will soon be raising a ruckus on Nintendo 3DS. And some of the commands could be more intuitive. For example, the program supports multiple tracks yet there’s no easy way to crossfade between one set of stereo tracks and the next. Supporters of the freeĪudacity may claim that their choice of audio editors is an even a greater bargain, but I find Audacity’s interface convoluted and the program occasionally unstable. While Amadeus’ batch processing and support for a wide variety of audio formats are unique-Sound Studio supports Ogg Vorbis but not FLAC-much of Amadeus Pro’s attraction boils down to price: It costs a measly $40, and for those forty smackers you get a remarkably-complete audio-editing solution. Peak LE ($129) may wonder what sets Amadeus Pro apart from these likewise-capable applications. Those familiar with other traditional audio editors such as Felt Tip Software’s SoundSoap noise-reduction plug-in, but they can adequately remove the most-common kinds of noise you find in audio files-hum and rumble, for example. These noise-suppression features aren’t as capable as those provided by Bias’ $129 The Effects menu also includes tools for reducing or eliminating noise, including Interpolate-a command that attempts to smooth over tiny clicks and blips by removing the most-offensive characteristics of the sound-as well as a Denoising command, which lets you remove common types of noise or noise based on a sample of that noise you provide. For example, Amadeus’ Effects menu gives you quick access to Echo, Amplify, Equalizers, VST Effects, Stereo Utilities (including Balance, Invert Phase, and Swap Channels), Audio Units, Change Pitch and Speed, Normalize, Fading (Fade In and Out, as well as crossfade), and Reverse options. Just as with other traditional sound editors, you select sections of audio by dragging a selection cursor over the waveform you can then apply a variety of filters and effects to the selected sound.
